Ride report: Forest of Dean 21st Aug 2011

Ride reports from Forest of Dean (include other trails and rides): September 2010 (novice friendly), November 2010, January 2011.

Verderer's trail in the Forest of Dean.

After a bit of wait our group of 18 riders set off from Pedalabikeaway down the brand new Verderer’s Trail (Blue grade). Our guide for the day was Roger, a friend of Pete from cc-cc (Cheltenham and County Cycling Club).

The route used most of the Verderer’s trail with several excursions off, first onto bits of the FODCA trail and then round some of the original 10 mile enduro route.

Afer doing the final descent on the Verderer’s trail we rode over to the Bromley enclosure via a great downhill section. After a steep road climb we rode down a really steep section on Shutcastle hill.

We finished off by taking the cycle trail back to Pedalabikeaway.
