Hargroves cycles will soon be opening a showcase cycle store in Swindon. They promise many leading brands including Specialized, Cube, Bianchi, Felt and Scott. They plan to “give Swindon the ultimate cycle shopping experience”.
Founder Peter Hargroves said “we are very excited to bring the Hargroves Cycles brand to Swindon. This new venture is our 5th shop and is part of our plan to expand our number of outlets and branch further away from our Southampton hub. Hargroves Cycles is going from strength to strength and I am looking forward to see how the Swindon shop unfolds. Our aim is to become the number one bike shop in the South of England”.
Peter is an established cyclo-cross rider who once represented the UK in the discipline. He opened his first store at Southampton in 1985. This was followed by a shop in Winchester in 1992 and Chichester in 1998. A store in Fareham followed in 2007. A web site was added a few years ago and since then Hargroves Cycles Ltd has grown rapidly.
The company told us that “we take pride in our business. All of our customers are provided with the best impartial advice we can offer. We cover road riding, cyclo-cross, cross country, all mountain, down hill and trials. Our staff are all enthusiasts so can offer quality advice from experience.”

Launch is 22nd September. Not being a Swindonite I’m not 100% sure of location but I think it’s near the Toyota / Pug dealerships on Wootton Bassett Road.
