Enduro1 Gravity Enduro – Rd 2 Forest of Dean

Words by Captain James Scott

Team of four – James, Mike, Jason and Dion

Home territory! A nice local race for us this time around although it used tracks that were mostly unknown to us, thankfully staying away from the well ridden trail centre stuff and showing the racers what the FoD has to offer away from the crowds. At 27km and 580m it was a reasonable ride and riding the trails blind was a nice challenge. Stage 1 was the team chase, with the whole team of 4 crossing the start line in a row and chasing each other down the trail. It was definitely a pedally one with some climbing mid-stage, too. Stages 2 and 3 were more DH orientated with pedally top sections tapering off steeper and steeper. Stage 4, again, had a lots of straight pedalling with some steep corners mid-stage to keep you on your toes. Again, Stage 5 was a fast pedal down a couple of fireroads into a brilliant bottom section of natural berms, flat corners and just enough of a descent to keep you going.

Great fun and the mild drizzle wasn’t enough to ruin the fun of the day.

Results wise the team came 2nd out of 6, beating our main rivals, “Sketchy B”.
