Ashton Court trails - similar to Plymouth proposals

The National Trust recently put in a planning application for a trail and cycling hub at Plymbridge woods in Plymouth (click on “view associated documents” for the plans and letters of response). The latest news is that they’ve withdrawn it whilst that make some amendments to it. The application has caused a flurry of letter writing and campaigning from those in support or objecting to the plans.

Local cyclists have formed the Plym Valley Cycle Hub whilst objectors have formed the Friends of Plymbridge Woods.

The Guardian has a pretty good summary of the situation.

See this article about the plans on the National Trust Dartmoor blog.

The plans are similar to what has been succesfully implemented at Ashton Court in Bristol also Haldon Forest near Exeter.
