Gary Palmer leads this all day ride taking in some of the best riding in Gloucestershire. At 40 miles and over 1000 metres of climbing, it’s not for the faint-hearted, but it should provide plenty of excitement and beautiful views for those who have the legs for it.
The ride starts at Shortwood Car Park Nr Haresfield Beacon GL6 6PP (careful not to go to the Shortwood that is south of Stroud). This is a National Trust car park so there is a charge (£3.00 last time Gary was there) but NT members can park for free.
The route follows various trails as far south as North Nibley before heading back towards the start point. It is similar to this ride from 2017.

Obviously, for a ride of this nature you’re going to need a certain amount of fitness but we’ve got all day. Bring plenty to eat and drink, though there should be the opportunity to stop at a cafe along the way.
