If you’ve ever thought of trying mountain biking, now’s your chance. In April, we are running a series of beginner-friendly rides. The first is on Bank Holiday Monday (6th). Meet at the Three Trees Cafe in Chiseldon, ready for a 9.30am start.
The ride will follow the classic Barbury/Smeathe’s Ridge loop, a ride of about 11 miles. The route is reasonably flat, but there’s long climb in the middle of it. Stopping to rest or pushing for a while will be fine!
There’s the option of staying for coffee and cake afterwards.
All you need is a bike in good working order, a water bottle, and a helmet. We’ll ride at the pace of the slowest rider, and there will be plenty of opportunities to stop and rest. It’s a great way to get some exercise, meet people and get to know the beautiful landscapes that surround Swindon.
Please note that all riders must be aged 18 or over.
