Lovely in summer, hard work in the wet!

Submitted by: strodey
Start: Lambourn or Foxhill or White Horse HIll
Finish: Where you started!
Direction: Clockwise due to wind!
Distance: 34.82 Km
Rating: Medium
Description: This is my regular ride, really nice and easy in the summer, nothing too technical.
Winter this route becomes a real challenge, some of the climbs are on a clay surface that is like riding on ice as its hard and compacted but really slippy. whilst it only gets muddy in a few places it can become fun trying to avoid the big ruts left by run off and tractors!
Some sections can be very exposed in windy conditions, i have done this in a force 8 and struggled!
Lovely veiws all year round.Although this route is started and finished in Lambourn (car park off the high street is free) it can be joined from Foxhill, White horse hill, and any other parts of the ridgeway where there are roads and parking!
