Micky Duller will lead this ride, which takes us out of Chiseldon up the gentle climb along the Ridgeway (road climb) to Foxhill. Here we join the Ridgeway (off road) for a mile or so. This section includes the great descent towards Ridgeway Farm.
We then make the climb over Lammy Down and make our way over the M4 for the long Bridleway descent towards Aldbourne, but before entering the village we make the bridleway climb up towards Baydon. We will have a pit stop at Baydon for snacks/drinks etc.
We loop around the village which includes a nice bridleway descent. Leaving Baydon, we skirt along the Peaks down and over to Foxhill, we then return back to the Start via ‘Micky’s secret escape’.
Although 21 miles is slightly longer than usual, we are calling this a Novice-Friendly ride because the route is not technically difficult. There will be some hills to climb and the opportunity (if you want) to ride some fast descents. The ride is open to everybody and would be suitable for Hardtail, Full suss and Electric type mountain Bikes.
We will be riding in a group of mixed abilities but no one will get left behind.
Meet at the Three Trees Cafe ready for a 10.00am start, and expect to be out for 3-4 hours. If driving to Chiseldon, park in the carpark at start of cycle path 482, right next to the cafe.
Hi There
Could i possibly join you this Saturday? I had a great time out with the ladies last Sunday and wondered if I could trial another ride before joining?
Thanks Kerry
